And when a condensation line clogs or a drain pan overflows under that kind of strain, the water doesn’t wait for a convenient time to show up. It shows up in your ceiling, your closet, your hallway — sometimes before you even notice the AC is struggling.

    Why 101° Heat Makes This Worse

    Your air conditioner pulls a lot of moisture out of the air on a day like today. All that condensation has to go somewhere — normally down a small drain line and out of your house. But a few things happen on extreme heat days that make backups far more common:
