Merlene Mitigation is a locally owned restoration company based in Pilot Point, TX, serving homeowners across north Texas. Founded and operated by Joshua Merlene, a 10+ year industry veteran with hands-on experience managing everything from high-rise commercial floods to single-family residential water losses. Unlike large restoration companies that send different technicians to every job, Joshua shows up personally and stays until the job is done right.

Water Damage Restoration
Comprehensive structural drying for water intrusion from leaks, pipe bursts, and flooding. We assess the full extent of damage, implement proven drying solutions to stop further deterioration and mold growth, and guide you through the insurance process from day one — including direct communication with your adjuster as the contractor on your job.
Moisture Inspection — $150
Targeted detection of hidden moisture behind walls, under floors, and in ceilings using a professional moisture meter and FLIR thermal camera. Ideal after a water event, a slow leak, or any time something just doesn’t feel right. Includes a written report with photos of moisture readings, findings, and recommendations. Inspection fee credited toward any restoration work performed.
Thermal Performance Inspection — $175
A full thermal scan of every wall and ceiling in your home to identify missing or compromised insulation and detect hidden anomalies. Unlike a spot check, this is a comprehensive inspection of your entire home’s envelope — and it requires the right conditions to be accurate. We schedule your inspection on a day when outdoor temperatures are at least 15 degrees above or below your interior, ensuring every reading means something. Results include a written report with thermal images and findings.
Fire Damage Assessment & Estimating — Starting at $300
Fire damage is complex — every surface, every room, every material tells a different part of the story. We conduct a thorough room-by-room assessment of structural and contents damage, document findings with photos, and produce a detailed itemized estimate you can submit directly to your insurance company. Priced by scope and home size. Takes the guesswork out of the claims process and puts a professional document in your hands from day one.
